THE STORY

As the sun slipped behind the majestic Colorado mountains, clouds gathered like a soft crown resting atop their peaks. It was hard to tell where the rugged earth ended, and the sky began—everything blurred in a moment of quiet wonder. The wide-open field stretched out in tall grasses, their golden tops just peeking through the deepening shadows of dusk.

What caught my eye most were the trees. Unlike the neatly trimmed Christmas trees back home in Georgia, these stood proudly in all their imperfections—crooked, irregular, and wildly beautiful. Each one unique, just like all of us.

This piece is created with richly layered oil paint using both brush and palette knife, giving it bold, textured depth. It’s a tribute to nature’s quiet mystery and our shared, beautiful flaws.
