Feeding the Chickens captures one of those quiet, everyday moments of country life that generations of farm families have known. An older farm woman, dressed in her apron and red headscarf, stands in the barnyard feeding her colorful flock of chickens while a weathered barn rests peacefully in the distance.
Based on my original painting, this nostalgic farm scene is filled with expressive impressionistic brushwork, visible paint texture, and softly blended country colors. Chickens wander freely across the yard in shades of gold, cream, brown, and black, while greens, blues, and warm earth tones create the feeling of a peaceful day on an old family farm.
This artwork would be especially at home in a farmhouse kitchen, country dining room, cottage, breakfast nook, rural home, or cozy family gathering space. It is also a lovely choice for anyone who remembers grandparents, farm chores, backyard chickens, or the simple rhythms of country living.
