THE STORY

Breakfast in Destin
Original 24x48x1" Textured Oil Painting by Teresa Johnson
Inspired by the Beaches of Destin, Florida

As the first light of morning rose over the Gulf, I stood on the white sands of Destin, Florida, captivated by the scene before me. Birds danced along the shoreline, chasing the receding waves and enjoying their morning feast. The sky was still dark, but the horizon glowed with hints of red, yellow, and orange as the sun began its climb.

"Breakfast in Destin" is a large, 24x48x1 inch original oil painting, created with rich, heavy textures using a palette knife. The shimmering colors of the sea—turquoise, deep blue, emerald, green, purple, and foamy white—come alive with depth and motion, echoing the gentle rhythm of the waves. The birds bring movement and life to the scene, capturing the wonder of nature’s morning ritual.
